What we collect, why we collect it, and what you can ask us to do about it.

Flowtastic Plumbing Solutions provides plumbing services in Nairobi and the surrounding counties. For the purposes of the Data Protection Act, 2019, we are the data controller for the personal data described here.

We only collect data you type into one of our forms. We do not buy data, and we do not build profiles of visitors.
We collect your name, email address, phone number, the service you are asking about, and your message. We use it to reply to you and to carry out the work you ask for.
We collect your name, email address, phone number, a description of your experience, and the CV you upload. We use it to assess your application. CVs are stored outside the public area of our server and are not reachable by a web address — a member of staff has to be signed in to open one.
We collect your name, your general location, your rating and your review text. Reviews are published on this site only after a member of staff approves them, so please do not include anything in a review that you would not want shown publicly. The name and location you give us will be visible to everyone.
We do count page views, on our own server, to see which pages are useful. No cookie is set and your IP address is not stored: it is turned into a scrambled value that changes every day, so a visitor is counted once per day and cannot be followed between days or to other sites. Our website and database run on hosting infrastructure operated by our hosting provider, who can technically access the server on which your data sits. They act on our instructions and are not permitted to use the data for their own purposes.
Our contact page can embed a Google Map, but only if you allow it. If you do, Google receives your IP address and may set its own cookies, under its own privacy policy. If you decline, the map is never loaded and Google is not contacted at all.
This site loads its typeface from Google Fonts, which means Google receives your IP address when a page loads. No cookie is set by that request.
We may also share data where the law requires it, for example in response to a lawful order from a court or regulator.
When a retention period ends, we delete the record and any file attached to it.
The site is served over HTTPS. Passwords for staff accounts are stored only as bcrypt hashes, never in a readable form. Access to enquiries, applications and unapproved reviews requires a staff sign-in. Uploaded CVs are held outside the web root and are only released through a link that expires after one minute.
No system is perfectly secure, and we do not claim otherwise. If a breach affects your data and creates a real risk to you, we will notify you and the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner as the Act requires.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner at odpc.go.ke.
This site is not intended for children, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has sent us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
If we change how we handle personal data, we will update this page and the date at the top. Material changes will be flagged on the site rather than made quietly.
